Fact Check: Swedish Prime Minister

A connection between the Swedish Prime Minister and IKEA is a popular internet rumor and running joke. There is no truth to the claim that the CEO of IKEA was elected as Sweden's head of government.
IKEA is an independently owned, privately held multinational corporation, and Sweden's head of government is decided via national parliamentary elections.
The internet joke is:
The CEO of IKEA was just elected Prime Minister of Sweden. The first thing he'll do is to assemble his cabinet.
